Braden Hayes named 2022 Hamm Foundation Scholar

Hamm Foundation awards $2,500 Eudora High School senior Braden Hayes to attend Missouri Welding Institute (MWI) in the Fall of 2022

Founded in 1994, Missouri Welding Institute (MWI) trains the nation’s finest welding craftsmen using a hands-on approach, one-on-one attention and a family-style environment to prepare students for a successful career.


According to his school counselor Lisa Moffitt, Braden has taken every opportunity to prepare himself for success at MWI including working part time to save money, and even participated in a welding competition at MWI which earn him $1,000 towards tuition.


The Mission of Eudora High School is to work with the community to assure all students an education emphasizing skills for learning. All students will learn in an orderly and supportive environment that promotes responsibility and integrity while encouraging the pursuit of lifelong learning.


"Braden has demonstrated excellence in welding while taking challenging technical education classes at Eudora High School. He is committed to a career in welding and is excited to start classes this fall at the Missouri Welding Institute."

Braden plans to pursue a lifelong career in the industrial arts upon completion of his program at MWI.
